When was the moment you fell in love with Mass Spectrometry?
We were measuring protease inhibitor concentrations in a pediatric HIV ward at Erasmus MC. The direct translation of our results towards helping clinicians make life saving decisions was very inspiring for a young scientist.
What is the best thing that could happen to the field of Mass Spectrometry in 5 years?
Universal data format across all vendors. Collaboration would help elevate the entire field.
What has been the proudest moment in your life science career?
Fixing a broken instrument is always a proud moment, but realigning the transfer arm on a Bruker Ultraflex so that the target passed perfectly to the inner stage was something special.
