When was the moment you fell in love with Mass Spectrometry?

At university during a biochemistry lecture. Hearing about an instrument that can sequence all the proteins in the body sounded like an amazing tool that could revolutionise clinical medicine.
 

What is the best thing that could happen to the field of Mass Spectrometry in 5 years?

Mass Spec could be used as a diagnostic tool in pathology labs to help dictate how patients are treated.
 

What has been the proudest moment in your life science career?

Being chosen as 1 of 5 national finalists in the 2017 Aust. Women’s Weekly ‘Women of the Future’ award - I was proud of being a woman in a STEMM field and very keen to demonstrate to the future generation of young women that you can have a successful and enjoyable career in STEMM.”
