When was the moment you fell in love with Mass Spectrometry?

I inherited my passion for mass spectrometry from working with Sue Abbatiello. Finding a supportive mentor excited to do science with you is truly life-changing!

What is the best thing that could happen to the field of Mass Spectrometry in 5 years?

It would be amazing to see a more affordable instrument that increases adoption of mass spectrometry. Something cheap and robust enough that it can compete with Western blots and immunohistochemistry.

What has been the proudest moment in your life science career?

I'm proudest when I hear from other scientists that I've sparked their interest in mass spectrometry. Every time I get feedback that my lectures, workshops, or papers helped someone improve their own mass spectrometry work just completely makes my week.
